Applications for Locum Support extended

The Nursing & Allied Health Rural Locum Scheme (NAHRLS) has extended our application period for requests for locum support. If you or your workplace require locum cover while you are away on a CPD activity contact NAHRLS today.

NAHRLS has been established to support nurses, midwives and eligible allied health professionals in rural and remote Australia to get away to do the professional development training they need to continue their vital work.

The NAHRLS is a component of the Australian Government’s National Health and Hospital Network Reform agenda and aims to remove some of the barriers rural health professionals face in accessing CPD activities.
The NAHRLS will support and recruit suitable locums to enable rural professionals to leave their post to undertake CPD activities, and enable organisations to back-fill their positions to support ongoing service delivery.
The NAHRLS employs the locum and the scheme supports all locum recruitment, travel and accommodation costs so there is no extra costs to your health service. The NAHRLS will then bill your health service for the pre-agreed base pay rate amount for the locum and associated expenses e.g. payroll tax, superannuation etc. This arrangement ensures there is minimal administrative burden to your service and the formal and proper contracting of the locum health professional.
