Before I started febfast, my average workday consisted of bread and bickies. I LOVE carbs, especially a delicious sandwich made with freshly baked sourdough bread (insert picture of Homer Simpson drooling here)! As I begin to fade over the day, my snacky receptors would start firing, and I immediately reach for that afternoon bicky. My ultimate weakness is a Tim Tam.
As a fulltime working mum of two young boys aged eight years and 11 months, my days get quite hectic as you can imagine! My workdays begin with preparing lunches for my family, often forgetting my own in the process. My desk draws filled with quick and easy go-to lunches, including microwave meals and two-minute noodles for those forgetful days. Unappetising, to say the least. And so the craving for fast food begins!
My journey towards a healthier lifestyle began eight years ago when I made a life-changing discovery that I was anaphylactic to wheat. At aged 24, my life suddenly revolved around avoiding certain foods. My take-out options were heavily restricted, forcing me to make more homemade meals and choose healthier alternatives.
After 31 December 2020, support for vacant positions will no longer continue. As COVID-19 restrictions have eased nationally, the Australian Government Department of Health wants the program to focus on supporting professionals to take leave.
